On Giving Tuesday, Butte College will join thousands of colleges and nonprofits around the world in a global day of giving. Our goal is to increase awareness and support to benefit the outstanding students, faculty, and programs of Butte College. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for our campus to come together and show our “BC Pride” by giving back to what we care about most. Donate any time between November or December! Watch for more information this fall.
For more info, call us at (530) 895-2359 or email foundation@365dafa6.com.
Donors may select the fund nearest & dearest to their heart, or one of the recommended areas of support provided by the Foundation, such as the Butte College Promise, Athletics, Student Emergency Grants, Rising Scholars, Roadrunner Hub Food Pantry, Math, Nursing, Computer Science/ICT, Speech & Debate, Music or unrestricted support for the College to apply where the need is greatest.
Your donation to the Promise Scholarship helps ensure all first time, full time students have an opportunity to attend Butte College. Many students choose not to attend because they don’t believe they can afford college.
Your donation helps first time, full time students receive an educational experience with tuition and fees waived for up to two years. The average cost for a Butte College education is $15,820 per year. There are still many costs students must pay, including books, which can be as costly as tuition and fees.
You can make a big impact by donating to BC Athletics. Show your #BCPride with a gift to any of our 13 athletic teams that is nearest to your heart, providing much needed support to our programs such as new equipment for our student athletes.
Consider a donation to the Student Emergency Grant Fund to help students with a crisis situation that would cause them to drop out of college. This fund is aimed at helping those students who face an emergency and need our support to continue in classes.
Rising Scholars provide resources and support for formerly incarcerated and system impacted students (those who have experienced the effects of incarceration) to be successful in college and in life. Rising Scholars have a dedicated academic counselor and a student led club where students can connect with those with similar circumstances.
The Roadrunner Hub Basic Needs Resource Center is a network of people and programs that offer students food and housing resources to limit the barriers to their educational goals and success. Students may be eligible for access to the Food Pantry, Butte College Dining Services cards, assistance with Cal Fresh applications, rental and housing assistance and referrals.
The Math Department is raising funds to support the AMATYC "Student Math League" Contest! The AMATYC is a math contest held each year at community colleges nationwide. It consists of two one-hour exams. Each exam consists of 20 multiple choice questions covering precalculus material (e.g. algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics/probability) which contains some nonstandard challenging questions. Students get to test their problem-solving skills and see how they compare to others from around the nation. Goal is $2,000.
Our programs offer three steps on the career ladder for nursing: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Registered Nurse (LVN-RN), and Associate Degree Registered Nurse (RN). Butte College also started a new Accelerated Track RN program in Spring of 2024! A registered nurse can seek employment in a variety of settings: acute care hospital, community/home health care, skilled and long term care, clinics, physician offices, and any number of private industries that interface with health care delivery.
Computer Science/ICT is raising funds for software/student cost of industry recognized certifications. Goal is $5,000.
The Speech and Debate Team is raising funds to attend the community college national tournament, this year hosted in Virginia. Last year, our team won bronze at the national tournament which was attended by 50 colleges! Our competitive students travel around the state, facing off against colleges of all sizes, and this semester have already brought back over 2 dozen trophies! We are looking to grow student success again with your support! Goal is $15,000.
The Butte College Music Department is seeking your generous support to acquire a new set of timpani, an instrument that is vital for any music department. Your contribution towards our fundraising goal of $21,000 will make a significant impact on our students' musical education. Your donation will resonate through every note, helping our young musicians reach their full potential and delight audiences for years to come. Please donate today and be part of our musical journey! Together, we can make the music department's dream of new timpani a reality.
